Clean Zones for Hospital Operating Theatres

The design of the Plade Clean Zone features the same technology as the universally acclaimed Plade Whispair clean air hood, which with a noise criteria figure of 26.6 dB(A) is without doubt the quietest clean air hood available.

The Photographs below show the Clean Zones Hospital Operating Theatres in position providing 360 degree unrestricted floor access.

Control and instrument binnacles are conveniently located at the periphery of the clean zone, being accessible from inside or outside the controlled environment without the need to pass across the clean zone boundary.

Temperature and humidity controlled versions are available together with remote air supply systems and a variety of other options.

The Whispair Clean Zone incorporates the Plade "folded horn" technology with acoustically decoupled fans to produce a world-beating environment for extended periods of intricate work. Work that requires intense concentration and the alert response and co-operation of each member of a highly trained team. With an efficient design noise criteria figure, typically below 40 dB(A) when running at 0.38 metres per second, this clean zone has no need for any acoustic attenuation material. For the 3 metres by 3 metres square controlled area this results in an all-up weight of about 600 Kg, i.e. less than a third of most competitive units making it the lightest system in its class.
