New Sales Arrangements
It is with regret that we advise you that Mr Jason Fuller has decided to resign from his sales company and consequently terminate his association with Plade and his role in looking after Plade’s customers. We wish him well and every success in his new appointment and his new career.
In future Plade sales and service will be handled by Mr Alan Routledge of USED4semicon Limited. Alan has previously had a close relationship with Plade in a sales role and is familiar with the products and capabilities of our engineers. In addition he is well known in the industry and many of you will already know him. We therefore look forward to working together again and to the provision of a prompt and efficient service to you.

28th September 2001Plade Ltd ship their largest semi-automatic wet bench to a manufacturer of medical devices in Ireland.
The Wet Bench, featuring a series of Ultrasonic cleaning baths and Hot DI rinses is almost 6 metres long and has been successfully installed and commissioned by Plade staff in Galway.

Plade Ltd a Company in Barrhead Scotland Have Won
The Scottish Business Awards Manufacturing Section.
The Competition organised by Business & Finance in Scotland magazine with supporting sponsorship from Edinburgh Crystal, The Royal Bank of Scotland and Tack Training International, held its presentation on December 10. 1999 at Drummond House in Edinburgh (Royal Bank of Scotland headquarters).
The ceremony was followed by a conducted tour of the Treasury Department
JEMI Annual General meeting Dec. 7. 1999
Mr Gregor Egan Managing Director of Plade Ltd gave a presentation at the JEMI Annual General meeting, held in the new Scottish Microelectronics Centre at King's Buildings at Edinburgh, on December 7. 1999.
The thrust of this presentation was to highlight the problems for Scottish satellite factories working to the instructions of offshore parent companies.
They can only ever hope to be equal to the parent but are inevitably destined to achieve second best. Consequently in times of difficulty they become the prime candidates for closure.
The solution proposed being that they trust their own judgement and local supply companies try to be better than the parent or other offshore satellite plants.
A second proposal on the same theme was that these satellite plants should consider spinning out some of the lower tech activities in their companies as a separate company run by the people currently doing this work in-house. This would reduce overall costs through releasing this activity from the overheads and at the same time the spun out company could compete for similar work with other plants. They in turn would also be an independent Scottish Company with a natural loyalty to the local economy.
The origins and development of Plade was used to demonstrate how this did happen in the past and illustrate how it could be made to happen again.
